Exciting news today for the people who have been saying for weeks that Kate Middleton is having twins: YOU'RE ALL WRONG. How's it feel to be wrong? How does it taste? Metallic, like blood, or bitter, like rue?
On Monday, St. James Palace confirmed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting "a baby" – an baby; just the one – in July.
Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in July.
The Duchess's condition continues to improve since her stay in hospital last month.
When Kate's pregnancy was announced in early December, the palace stressed that it was still in the very early stages (well before the 12 week mark), but everyone was too busy imagining the matching outfits they were going to buy for themselves and the royal baby to listen.
Because Kate suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a type of morning sickness associated with multiple pregnancies, and was an insatiable cookie monster, many people speculated that she might be carrying twins.
British papers are reporting that the due date should be around mid-July, which means the baby will probably be a Cancer. Very emotional.
